Poverty

    Poverty is a huge problem; especially now when we’re in a global pandemic. Many people have lost their jobs, and are now living in horrible conditions. About 150 million people have gone to extreme poverty (living on less than $1.90) just because of the pandemic. Some people don’t have shelter, are being paid in minimum wage, and lack of education. I feel that raising the minimum wage would help eliminate the monster we call poverty.  Firstly is shelter, a fundamental thing that everyone needs. It provides essential needs to us, such as protection from, wind, rain, snow, and hot or cold temperatures. Two out of five households don’t have enough or the savings to go through financial troubles.  According to the World Health Organization, a child under 15 dies every five seconds around the world. Mostly by preventable causes that poverty initiates. Affordable housing can be very hard to find, it’s very expensive to find a nice living space for an affordable price....
  Some people have to be more careful in public, after all we’re in a pandemic. It’s truly one of my pet peeves, from people not wearing masks, to not social distancing. It mentally and physically pains me. As the virus gets worse, more people get infected, new strains come out, hospitals crawl slowly toward capacity, and yet some people don't listen. Firstly are parties, for example, internet influencer Bryce Hall held a party back in August of 2020. 75 people went to the party, and it escalated so far that the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) had to break in and stop it at 4 AM. This resulted in the governor also having to shut off utilities such as power and water in his house. This is truly disappointing, as we’re in a world crisis, some people seem don’t to notice that they have to be careful. This is also supporting this behavior as he has about 18 million followers, most of them are probably young too. This influences bad behavior. He ended up facing criminal charg...
